Application Process
How it works
Create your account
Register on the member panel with the email address you want us to use, and verify it.
Complete your profile
Fill in your professional details and upload your documents — the list is just below, so you can have them ready.
Review
The ESBICM Office checks your details and the Executive Committee approves the membership. If anything is missing, we write to you.
Your membership
Once approved, your ESBICM membership ID appears in your member panel and The ICU App opens for you.
ELIGIBILITY
Who can join
Any doctor, nurse, paramedic or other healthcare professional working in critical care — or simply interested in it — is welcome to apply. Doctors and nurses are enrolled as Life Members, and other healthcare professionals as Associate Life Members. Both are free for life.
DOCUMENTS
What to have ready
Three documents are required:
- A passport-size photograph
- Photo identity proof issued by the government of your country
- Proof of your medical qualification — a degree or diploma certificate for the qualification on your profile
One is optional:
- Your medical council registration certificate
Still studying or in training? You are welcome to apply. Upload your most recent semester or professional mark sheet, or, if you are in your first year, your admission letter. These are accepted in place of a qualification certificate.
For all uploads: Scanned copies or clear photographs are fine. We do not need originals or attested copies — the documents are only there to confirm who you are and what you are qualified in. If a document is in a language other than English, please upload an English translation alongside it, and make sure no file is password protected.

Apply from the member panel
Applications sent by email cannot be processed.
One account is enough
If you already have an account, sign in rather than creating a second one.
If we ask for clarification, the application stays open
Read what we have asked for and send it, and the review continues from where it stopped.
If four weeks pass
Write to office@esbicm.org and we will check where your application has reached.
Terms
Membership is granted and held under ESBICM's membership terms. Lifetime membership is free and no one will ask you to pay for it. Any payment to ESBICM — such as the optional Plus upgrade — is made by you in your member panel and nowhere else.
