Research Faculty

Research Faculty read the literature closely so that everyone else can use it. They appraise landmark trials, synthesise international guidelines, lead journal clubs and take part in evidence debates — the work of deciding what should change at the bedside and what should not.

The tier suits clinicians and nurses with a working grasp of study design, statistics and guideline interpretation. Research and Educator work often overlap, and faculty may contribute to both.

They also shape what comes next. Our research wing is new, and this is the tier that is building it — working with the Research Committee as ESBICM moves from reading research to doing it.
