NextGen Faculty
NextGen Faculty bring what is happening in the ICU right now. Case reports and clinical vignettes, images and ECGs and ultrasound loops, the pearl from this morning's round — the material that keeps our teaching tied to real patients rather than to textbooks.
The tier suits residents, fellows, trainees and nurses early in their careers who want to build an academic portfolio and learn by doing. NextGen Faculty work alongside senior colleagues, help organise ESBICM activity at their own institutions, and take part in journal clubs and discussions.
Moving up is expected, not exceptional. NextGen members join Research or Educator Faculty by applying after a year of active contribution, or by nomination from a senior colleague at any time — because talent should not have to wait its turn.
