Message from the Founding President

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Welcome to the Educational Society of Bedside Intensive Care Medicine (ESBICM®)—a movement built on the belief that bedside medicine is the foundation of compassionate and effective intensive care. When practiced with clarity and commitment, it transforms outcomes for patients and empowers ICU teams.

Since our founding in 2018, ESBICM has grown from grassroots efforts—WhatsApp groups and café workshops—to a global community across more than 60 countries. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to make bedside-focused ICU education freely accessible and affordable to every healthcare professional, regardless of geography or resources.

We are proud to remain a purpose-driven organization. Every lecture, video, and workshop is offered without charge, sustained by personal contributions and the collective spirit of volunteers who believe in democratizing medical knowledge. Through platforms like The ICU Channel, WhatApp, Discussion forum, Newsletter, ESBICM blog, Instagram, Workshops, Live online sessions, etc., we continue to deliver practical, evidence-based content designed for real-world application.

As we expand into certificate programs and new initiatives, our vision remains clear: to strengthen bedside intensive care—even in the smallest and most remote ICUs of the world. We are committed to reviving this vital clinical art and ensuring that its education remains freely accessible and affordable.

Warm regards,
Dr. Ankur Gupta
Intensivist, Learning Teacher, and Founder President, ESBICM®
