At ESBICM, we believe that world-class, bedside-intensive care education should be free and accessible to every healthcare professional—regardless of where you work or your ability to pay. Our story is one of passion, community, and unwavering resolve to remove financial barriers for frontline doctors, nurses, and paramedics, especially in remote and under-resourced ICUs.

Powered by Passion, Not Profits

Our journey began when Dr. Ankur Gupta, intensivist and Founder President of ESBICM, set out to create a platform where critical care learning could reach everyone—without the usual high costs. From the start, all our workshops, courses, and resources have been offered at no charge. We hold firm to a model that prioritizes access and inclusivity over commercial gain.

How Do We Fund ESBICM?

  • Personal Contributions: Dr. Ankur personally supports ESBICM by contributing his own savings earned through years of hard work. He further funds our initiatives by taking on paid one-to-one and group tutoring sessions—the income from these private lessons directly subsidizes ESBICM’s ongoing activities and projects.
  • Team Dedication: Every member of the ESBICM team is a volunteer. Many chip in from their own pockets to cover essentials like books, journals, software, and server costs, ensuring our mission stays alive and thriving.
  • Family Support: Even our founder’s mother plays a vital role, serving as society treasurer and giving her unwavering encouragement.
  • No Mandatory Fees: Whether it’s our videos, lectures, or online workshops, everything stays free and open. There are no hidden or mandatory charges—ever.

Future Funding: The ICU.in Project

To ensure ESBICM remains sustainable and continues to grow, we are developing a new project called ICU.in. This initiative will help generate additional funding to support our free educational offerings, allowing us to reach even more healthcare professionals in the years ahead.
