who can prescribe opioids/Narcotic drugs in ICU/hospital.

Please enlighten me that who can give written order of narcotic/Opioids in ICU/Hospital .
I mean minimum qualification and designation as per indian law.

MBBS + training in palliative care*

* usually its a short course or training taken by anaesthetists or palliative care persons.
u can also see IAPC certificate course on their website.

Mostly anaesthetists but also ICU residents are authorised with special permission from medical director.
