From today, I will going to work in ICU

Hlo kazi, good to kw u r interested to work in ICU ,for few days first observe the things happening in the ICU learn all the basic procedures done in ur ICU, protocols employed and type of cases ur ICU receives, u should be through with the admission, followup,discharge,shiftout,death policies followed in ur ICU, stay calm, communicate efficiently and effectively with the team ,never hesitate to represent ur concerns for the patient care do ur assessment prepare and discuss ur plan with the team
Some skills u need to master is
Patient monitoring system
IV assess
Infusion pump settings
Syringe pump settings
Foley catheterisation
Ryles tube insertion
ET intubation
Basic ventilator settings and trouble shooting
Oxygen therapy
Arterial sampling
Arterial line setup
Assist and prepare for C line and A line insertion
Basic blood and imaging interpretation
ACLS

Kazi my only advice for you now is , whenever you reach in front of any patient bed, ask yourself "why this patient is in icu?"
once you identify the issue , you will find the steps to move him/her out of icu.

be observant and vigilant.
